Does anyone know the history of Wacker, Neuson and the Wacker Neuson Brand?
Wacker was established in 1848, when Johann Christian Wacker founded a forge workshop under the name “Wacker” in Dresden, Germany. In 1875, industrial production began. Wacker revolutionised the construction industry with the invention of the “Wacker Plate” in 1930, and since then, has continued to develop the product portfolio. To satisfy the growing demand of their product, in 1964 they moved to a 10-acre site in Bavaria.
Wacker Construction Equipment AG acquired Weidemann GmbH in 2005, enabling the company to branch out into compact construction equipment and into the agricultural sector.
Neuson Hydraulik GmbH was founded in 1981. The first Neuson mini excavator came to the market in 1984, followed by numerous inventions, including the VDS (Vertical Digging System). This system allows exact vertical digging even on an uneven ground surface, curbs or slopes, which makes working more efficient, quicker and more pleasant for the operator.
Neuson Baumaschinen GmbH and Kramer-Werke GmbH merged in 2000, and in the same year, the company was renamed Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen GmbH, which was situated in Linz.
In 2007, Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen merged with Wacker Construction Equipment AG, the businesses complementing each other’s product ranges and sales regions.
Today, Wacker Neuson machines continue to revolutionise the construction industry, from remote control compaction plates, Dual Vision dumpers, excavators with industry leading features and benefits, battery-powered products (compaction plates just to name one), zero-emission dumpers, zero-emission excavators and an electric telehandler to comer later this year.
So where does the Hamilton Ross Group fit into this?
