Hamilton Brothers, alongside our sister companies Reekie Ltd and Ross of Lanark, are joining forces with Beatson Cancer Charity for 2017. We are running a number of fundraising initiatives from our Bishopton, Tarbolton, Campbeltown, Lanark, Cupar and Perth depots to support the local charity, which helps thousands of Scottish cancer patients and their families.

“There can be very few families whose lives haven’t been touched by cancer in some way either directly or indirectly,” says Eric Gardiner, Managing Director of The Hamilton Ross Group. “ As a local business we’re delighted to work with Beatson Cancer Charity, whose wonderful fundraising has helped thousands of West of Scotland cancer patients and their families deal with the disease with dignity.”
With a catchment area of around 60% of the Scottish population, each year the Beatson sees more than 8,000 new patients and delivers more than 20,000 courses of chemotherapy and 6,500 courses of radiotherapy. We never know when cancer may strike, but we do know that the Hamilton Ross Group will be doing everything we can to raise funds for this fantastic cause. Funding is key for maintaining the charity’s progress and providing specialist staff resources, innovative service developments, enhanced medical equipment and research and staff developments.
“On behalf of Beatson Cancer Charity, I’d like to express our sincere thanks to everyone at The Hamilton Ross Group for their support,” said Beatson Cancer Charity Chief Executive, David Welch. “Alarmingly, more than one in three people are affected by cancer in the West of Scotland – one of the highest cancer rates in Europe. All money raised by businesses like The Hamilton Ross Group goes a very long way in the fight against cancer, now and in the future and for that we are truly thankful.”
We are determined to give something back to the community and make a difference. Therefore we have decided to donate £1 for every Stihl petrol power machine sold this year and will give all money raised by the 5p carrier bag charge to the charity, so a simple purchase can go towards supporting West of Scotland cancer patients.
