Storm clouds and rain are all par for the course in the day to day working life of our West of Scotland farmers, but this week at Hamilton Brothers, we’re very excited about the imminent arrival of a very different type of storm. A LELY STORM is brewing at our Bishopton Depot as we are taking delivery of a  Lely Storm 130P Forage Harvester  on 9th June. Already our sales teams are wrangling over who’s getting the first opportunity to demonstrate this fantastic machine to their customers!

Power and Economy

We think this machine sets a new precedent for trailed choppers as it offers our  large farm owners and contractors an exceedingly powerful yet low maintenance and highly economical forage harvester which will consistently perform regardless of crop types and weather conditions.

Indeed, this Lely 130 P model can be driven from as little as 66 kW (90 hp). The four feed rollers create optimal compaction and ensure an uninterrupted and reliable crop intake. The flywheel – with a 1,300 mm diameter, 10 adjustable blades and a shear bar that can be used on both sides guarantees optimal short cutting quality as well as a long working life. Plus five or ten large blowing paddles with adjustable wear plates (that can be used on four sides) gives a very powerful ejection.

You are also guaranteed a powerful and smooth drive as the flywheel is driven via a rugged V-belt. Variable and exchangeable pulleys make it possible to use several tractor PTO speeds and flywheel r.p.m. rates. This prevents the need to use an energy-absorbing and high maintenance rectangular gearbox.
