Agricultural Service Manager

Lead a Skilled Workshop Team at Hamilton Ross Group!

Hamilton Ross Group is one of Scotland’s leading suppliers of agricultural, groundcare and construction machinery, representing some of the industry’s most respected brands across Scotland and Northern England.

Recognised in the inaugural Scotsman Insider 500 as one of Scotland’s top-performing companies by profit and turnover, we are committed to investing in our people, our depots and the continued growth of our business.

We are looking for an experienced and driven Agricultural Service Manager to lead our busy service department at our Tarbolton depot.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge, proven management experience and a genuine passion for delivering first-class customer service.

Requirements

The Role

Reporting to Group Senior Management, you will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability and day-to-day running of the service department at our Tarbolton depot.

You will play a key role in maintaining and developing the company’s strong reputation for reliable, honest and effective service. Working closely with customers, engineers and other departments across the business, you will ensure the workshop operates efficiently while delivering the high standards our customers expect.

This is a hands-on management role, so a strong understanding of agricultural machinery repair and maintenance is essential. You will support technical decision-making, oversee service delivery and work closely with the warranty department to manage claims effectively.

Your responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day operations of the service department, driving workshop efficiency and profitability, leading and developing the service team, planning workloads across both workshop and field service engineers and ensuring the highest standards of workmanship, health and safety and customer care are maintained.

You will also build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues across the business, identify opportunities to improve performance and processes and uphold the standards and values that Hamilton Ross Group is known for.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have proven management experience, ideally within the agricultural, groundcare, construction or wider machinery sector. A strong technical understanding of agricultural machinery is essential, along with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a busy team.

You will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively. Strong IT skills, sound commercial awareness and a practical approach to problem-solving are also important.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is self-motivated, accountable and capable of making confident decisions that support both the department and the wider business.

Why Join Hamilton Ross Group?

Hamilton Ross Group has been serving customers for more than 90 years and remains a trusted family-owned business with a strong reputation across the agricultural, groundcare and construction sectors.

As Agricultural Service Manager, you will lead a key department within one of Scotland’s most respected machinery dealerships, working with leading brands and a highly experienced team.

In return, we offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, a performance-related bonus, company vehicle and digital toolset, company pension, life insurance, employee discount scheme, referral programme, sick pay and on-site parking.

Employees also benefit from 26 days annual leave plus 4 company shutdown holidays each year.
