Hamilton Ross Group’s Pink Tractor Charity Auction Raises an Outstanding £7614 for Breast Cancer Now

Hamilton Ross Group is delighted to announce that its 10 Pink Tractors in 10 Days charity auction has raised an outstanding £7614 in donations and pledges for Breast Cancer Now, following an exceptional commitment from the company’s Chairman and Managing Director to personally match the entire amount raised.

Running from 3 – 12 October, the campaign saw ten Pink October Limited Edition Massey Ferguson 5S.125 scale models auctioned over ten consecutive days.

All ten models were donated by Hamilton Ross Group, with 100% of every successful winning bid going towards Breast Cancer Now.

The campaign was the brainchild of Hamilton Ross Group’s Group Parts Manager, Tommy Smith, who came up with the fundraising idea and arranged for the limited-edition pink tractors to be sourced from Massey Ferguson. Tommy’s enthusiasm and hard work helped turn a simple idea into a successful charity campaign, bringing together customers, collectors and supporters from across the agricultural community.

The auction received a fantastic response, attracting bids from across the UK and even as far afield as the United States.

  • Day 5: Robin Hamilton

We extend our sincere thanks to each of our successful bidders, along with everyone who placed a bid, shared our auction posts or supported the campaign throughout the ten days.

Generous Support from Our Additional Donors

Alongside the auction proceeds, we were fortunate to receive further donations from:

  • Marc Robb, NFU Mutual
  • David Wilson, Wilson Tractors Berryhill Ltd
  • Massey Ferguson UK

We would particularly like to recognise Massey Ferguson UK for its generous additional donation and support of the campaign. Their contribution played an important part in helping us achieve such a positive fundraising result and we are extremely grateful for their involvement.

Together, the auction proceeds and additional donations raised an impressive £3807 for Breast Cancer Now.

Hamilton Ross Group’s Chairman and Managing Director Match the Fundraising Total

In an extraordinary gesture of generosity, Eric Gardiner, Chairman of Hamilton Ross Group, and Jamie Gardiner, the company’s Managing Director, have personally pledged to match the entire £3807 raised through the campaign.

Their decision to contribute an additional £3807 has doubled the fundraising total to an outstanding £7614 for Breast Cancer Now.

This exceptional commitment from the company’s leadership has significantly increased the impact of the campaign, ensuring that the generosity shown by bidders and donors goes even further.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Eric and Jamie for their generosity and personal commitment to supporting such an important cause.

Supporting Breast Cancer Now

This announcement comes on 13 October, Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, providing a particularly meaningful opportunity to highlight the importance of supporting people affected by secondary breast cancer.

Earlier in the campaign, Breast Cancer Now shared that the money raised through the first two auctions alone could pay for five people to attend its Living with Secondary Breast Cancer group sessions. These sessions provide expert information and peer support to people living with incurable secondary breast cancer, offering an important opportunity to connect with others facing similar experiences.

It is a powerful reminder of the difference that fundraising initiatives like this can help make.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Hamilton Ross Group would like to thank all ten successful auction winners, everyone who participated in the bidding, our additional donors and the many people who helped share and promote the campaign.

Special recognition goes to Group Parts Manager Tommy Smith, whose original idea, dedication and organisation made the entire initiative possible.

We are also especially grateful to Massey Ferguson UK for its generous support and to Eric and Jamie Gardiner, whose remarkable decision to personally match the full amount raised has made this achievement even more significant.

The fundraising cheque will be formally presented to Breast Cancer Now in the coming weeks, with photographs from the presentation to follow.

Ten pink tractors. Ten days. £7614 raised and pledged for Breast Cancer Now.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this campaign such a success!
